Janine began counselling twenty one years ago in the UK, before moving to the USA and then finally settling in New Zealand with her three children.

She is passionate about helping individuals navigate their way to happiness and enrich their relationships. She is committed to helping you find relief from your problems and providing you with the tools you need create sustainable, loving relationships and personal peace.

Janine studied psychology at Lancaster University in the UK and began her counselling career as a school counsellor.  She has a Diploma in Counselling in the UK and a Postgraduate Diploma with Distinction at the University of Auckland. She is a full member of the New Zealand Association of Counsellors.

She has undertaken professional development training in Systemic Family Therapy, Gottman method and Imago Relationship Therapy.

She strives to create a safe space where couples can express and explore each others emotional and physical needs openly and honestly through calmer communication skills.

Janine worked with Relationships Aotearoa, where she was the senior practitioner for family therapy and for supervision. She became a registered Family Court counsellor, assisting Relationships Aotearoa’s clients through ‘preparation for mediation’ counselling and ‘parenting through separation’ issues, as well as continuing to develop her skills and training for couple, family and individual therapy.  Janine also works for HELP, (an agency supporting survivors of sexual abuse), as a crisis counsellor.
