Relationship, Addiction, Communication, Mental Health, Cross-Cultural Issues
I was born in Korea but emigrated to New Zealand where I have lived for the last 28 years. I’m a counsellor, psychotherapist and supervisor with training in social work, Psychosynthesis counselling and psychotherapy, supervision, group psychotherapy and addiction studies.
I have worked with addiction, mental health and relationship issues and particularly the former for about 20 years. I have also enjoyed working with the Asian mental health service as a contractor, in private practice for many years as well as the Family Court, Waitemata PHO and ACC.
With strong interests in working with cross-cultural and sexual identity issues, I have a commitment to facilitate people finding purpose, meaning and values in their life journey, to help them to improve relationships and to become freer.
Ethical and professional practice are important to me as is self-care. I recharge my batteries by watching movies, talking with friends over coffee, camping, travelling in Aotearoa and overseas and enjoying exotic food.
